The Dream - Yamaha

The whole world knows about this one already but, considering the embarrassing number of plays this song has on my itunes, I feel the need to heap just a little more ooey-gooey praise on this ice-cold jam.

The Dream is quite simply a master of pop song craft. Did you know he wrote Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it) AND Umbrella!? ICE-COLD. The best pop songs are relentless. They don’t let you rest, and you know you’ve got a winner when every fucking section sounds like a chorus. It’s endlessly quotable, sounds great at full volume with the car windows down, and is as good as anything Prince ever recorded.
