I thought I would hate this. Mostly because everybody who likes the Digable Planets seems to be an insufferable dork that bitches about “real” vs “radio” hip hop and how auto-tune ruined their life. The only reason I even gave this a shot was that ridiculous faux William Burroughs sounding title. I figured that either meant that this was the lamest track ever, or something unexpectedly wild was going on here. I am happy to say that it was the latter.

Holy shit this is rad! It bangs like old school wu-tang track. It has a sense of humor (thank god). His voice has that slippery, wise ass sound that I could listen to all day. He uses ten dollar words because they work, not as a crutch to sound smart. And it somehow pulls off the vibe of a Moroccan opium den. Really, really good shit.
