Delorean - Stay Close
Delorean’s new album is a re-imagining of balearic house as a glowing, exultant form of pop music. It takes all the signifiers of that Ibiza, mdma, rave-up sound, like cut up female vocals, clattering snares build ups and blindingly bright piano breakdowns, and rearranges them into a blustering rush of bombastic pop that I can’t stop listening to. It is so fucking good it even approaches the brilliance of the one and only Tough Alliance. Jesus I miss that band…
