Nice Face - Garbage Head
The new record from Brooklyn band Nice Face, titled Immer Etwas is seriously badass. It’s a blast of blown out, dark, dangerous, lo-fi punk shot through with synths and drum machines. It has the airless feeling of Suicide but with more guitars and a wider sound palette. Freakout solos, sci-fi / Gary Numan synths, sick riffage, and some of the best punk rock hooks this side of the late great Jay Reatard, this thing is mind-meltingly essential.
